Our Story

  1. 2016

    A Vision is Born

    Legacy was established on 16th February 2016 as Legacy Sawmills Limited, driven by a vision of building a proudly Zambian manufacturing business that would contribute to the country's industrial growth.

  2. 2019

    A New Direction

    Recognising the growing need for affordable, nutritious food products, the company changed its name to Legacy Manufacturers Limited and shifted its strategic focus to food manufacturing, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

  3. 2020

    Investing in Modern Manufacturing

    Legacy invested in state-of-the-art food processing equipment, enabling the commercial production of Textured Soy Protein (Soya Pieces), Nik Naks, and Corn Puffs. This investment laid the foundation for the company's future growth.

  4. 2022

    Expanding Our Product Range

    Driven by our commitment to improving household nutrition, we introduced Instant Porridge and Instant Thobwa, providing Zambian families with nutritious, convenient, and affordable food options.

  5. 2023

    Growing Across Zambia

    Legacy successfully expanded its distribution network, making its products available through wholesalers, distributors, supermarkets, and retailers in all ten provinces of Zambia.

  6. 2024

    Supporting Local Agriculture

    By strengthening partnerships with local suppliers, Legacy reached and supported thousands of Zambian farmers through the purchase of locally produced agricultural commodities, creating shared value across the food value chain.

    National Recognition

    Legacy was honoured with the Manufacturer of the Year Award (SME) by the Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM), recognising our contribution to Zambia's manufacturing sector.

    Company of the Year

    Legacy was awarded the prestigious Company of the Year Award (SME) by the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS), recognising our commitment to quality, excellence, and continuous improvement.

  9. 2025

    Regional Recognition

    Legacy proudly represented Zambia at the SADC Quality Awards, where the company was named Runner-up for Company of the Year (SME) in Madagascar, demonstrating that Zambian manufacturing can compete successfully on the regional stage.

  10. 2025

    Award-Winning Nutrition

    Our flagship Soyalicious Instant Porridge was recognised as Product of the Year at both the Zambia Quality Awards (Livingstone) and the SADC Quality Awards (Johannesburg, South Africa), reaffirming our commitment to producing nutritious, high-quality food products.

  11. 2026

    A New Era of Growth

    Legacy commissioned its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Lusaka, significantly increasing production capacity and strengthening its ability to serve customers across Zambia while preparing for regional expansion.
